What’s your vision for Girl Scouts?
Girl Scouts of Western Washington wants to know! Several months ago we began to develop a strategic plan that would unite us as a council and guide our work over the next five years. This plan, which will be unveiled in spring 2009, is designed to outline the steps needed to accomplish our mission and ultimately shape GSWW’s future.
A future you’re very much a part of.
This is why we embarked on a survey of our members to hear the voices of girls, volunteers, parents and guardians to help us as a Council understand where we are today and where we need to go in the future. I encourage you to read the Strategic Planning Survey Summary, which details the feedback we received from over 1300 of you.
That’s a lot of important feedback, but it’s just the first piece of the puzzle. I invite you to share your vision for the future of GSWW by participating in a Cover Story Vision Exercise. This is an opportunity to be creative and envision the impact GSWW can have on the lives of girls in our region over the next five years.
Your voice matters.
We rely on your passion and energy to ensure we’re moving in the right direction. It’s certainly an exciting time to be a part of the Girl Scouts. I look forward to hearing from you as we move forward…together.
Sincerely,
Grace Chien
A strategic plan is similar to a road map. It identifies key initiatives and guides an organization to achieve specific goals. It encompasses an organization’s vision as well as more tactical information that maps out the steps to achieve its goals. In February 2008, Girl Scouts of Western Washington embarked on a journey to create a strategic plan for 2009-2012 that will unite Western Washington behind a common vision and goals for the future, assuring that Girl Scouts will continue to thrive throughout our region. The strategic planning process will take more than a year with implementation anticipated in April 2009. The process we will use to develop the strategic plan is intended to help us understand all facets of our organization, including strengths, weaknesses, trends, and issues in the communities we serve. We want to engage as many of our volunteers, girls, and families as possible in the development of the plan. Submit questions about GSWW’s Strategic Plan to JenniferKM@girlscoutsww.org. |
