In addition to Troop Leadership for troop leaders and Outdoor Leadership for outdoor specialists, learning courses are offered for several other roles.
Service Unit Manager
For anyone appointed as a service unit manager.
Event Director
For anyone who will be directing a large event for girls and/or adults. Strongly recommended for new Community Day Camp Directors and Encampment Directors. Teens welcome.
Participants will gain the basic knowledge and skills necessary to plan, conduct and evaluate a safe, quality event. Should be taken at least 6 months prior to the planned event.
Prerequisites: Adult Event Directors must take the GSUSA Online Orientation; Teens must have leadership experience.
Encampment Director
For individuals who will be Encampment Directors.
Provides tools and resources to effectively manage a weekend camping program. Learn how to develop goals and objectives for your camp, make a planning timeline, schedule activities appropriately, provide effective risk management and emergency procedures, and maintain camping traditions for your community. Should be taken at least six months to prior to the planned encampment.
Prerequisites: Event Director Training and event director experience.
Red Cross Trainer
Consider using your talents to provide certification training to adults and teens throughout Girl Scouts of Western Washington. We offer you the training for free in exchange for your time teaching twice a year. Recent courses include Babysitting Instructor Training.
