Bronze Award

The Bronze Award is the highest award a Junior Girl Scout can earn! Girls must complete all requirements by September 30 of their last year as a Junior.

Where can I find information about the Bronze Award?

  • The guidelines to earning your Bronze Award are in the Junior Girl Scout Handbook on pages 202 and 203 so your leader or advisor can sign off on the steps right in your book.
  • View or print the guidelines from the GSUSA web site.
  • Talk to your leader or advisor often and have them sign off on the steps as you complete them.

How can I share my success?

Share your success with our online submission form!

  • By completing this online form, we can report your grand accomplishment to your Service Unit.
  • We will send you an official certificate of achievement suitable for a scrapbook or framing.
  • We may choose to share your project information on the ideas page for other girls to consider. For privacy, only your project title and description will appear on the ideas page.

When can I get the award?

Your leader or advisor can award you with your Bronze Award pin at any time. They are available for purchase in the Girl Scout Store.

Can individual Girl Scouts, who aren't members of troops, earn the Bronze Award, too?

Yes! Individual Girl Scouts can earn the Bronze Award, too!

  • The process is exactly the same.
  • Choose someone to be your advisor who can sign off on badge requirements, and help you determine when you have reached your goal.
  • Your advisor can be a parent, guardian, aunt, uncle, grandparent, teacher, or other adult you feel would be helpful in your award process.
  • Talk to your leader or advisor often and have them sign off the steps as you complete them.

Is there a deadline for completion of Bronze Award projects?

  • The only deadline is September 30 of the year you are bridging from Juniors. Your project must be completed and approved by your leader/advisor before this date.

Some Do’s and Don’ts that we ask you to keep in mind:

  • DO fill out the online form to let us know your award has been completed so we can announce it to your Service Unit.
  • DO make sure your project follows Safety-Wise guidelines.
  • DON’T plan to earn money or solicit monetary donations:
  • It is against GSWW and GSUSA policy for girls to earn money for the purpose of donating to another organization. See Money-Earning Guidelines for Girls from the GSUSA web site.
